Haas became co-owner of Building Automation Services, Inc. during its incorporation in 1985.  Mr. Haas began his career in the Building Control Systems industry in 1971 with Robertshaw Controls Company, then a pioneer in the development of computer based building automation.  Mr. Haas served as Automation Systems Engineer with Robertshaw's Pittsburgh Regional Office with involvement in all phases of building automation including sales, specification writing, hardware and software application engineering and system start up. 

In 1976 Mr. Haas joined Brown Boveri Compuguard Corporation as manager of application engineering.  He was responsible for the design from specification of several large Energy Management and Control System projects.  In 1982, Mr. Haas joined the Project Management Department and was assigned to the companies largest EMCS project.  After serving as its Vice President from 1985 thru 1999, Mr. Haas acquired full ownership of Building Automation Services in January of 1999 with the intent of expanding its involvement in the Building Control Systems industry.

 

1984-1985       Building Automation Services, Inc. is founded and Incorporated. The company begins operations by serving the customer base of the former Brown Boveri  Compuguard Corporation which ceased its operations in 1985

1987                 Building Automation Services, Inc. wins its first of several large EMCS maintenance contracts at Fort Ord in California which it serves until 1994 when Fort Ord is closed as a result of Military cutbacks.

1988                  Building Automation Services, Inc. begins its entry into thee Electrical Contracting field, first with small commercial power and light installations and expanding to building control systems, security and access control systems.

1992                   Building Automation Services, Inc. develops its own PC based building control system software package to replace the former Compuguard Corporation DEC 1134 mini computer based system.  This software was subsequently installed at the Social Security Administration Service Center at Woodlawn, MD and at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ.

1996                    Building Automation Services, Inc. begins providing electrical installation services to several Pittsburgh area providers of Building Control Systems.

1999  - 2003        Full ownership of Building Automation Services, Inc. is acquired by James T. Haas..
